There have been markets in Wadern for more than 250 years. The markets in Wadern still take place today where livestock was traded alongside foodstuffs in the past.
Fresh market on Friday on the market square
Every Friday from 8 am to 1 pm, market visitors can stock up on everything they need for their kitchen and garden: Fruit and vegetables, eggs, fresh bread and baked goods, meat, fish, delicatessen and French specialities as well as flowers and plants. Three stands are run by regional farmers. The offer is partly seasonal, but there is also a large selection during the winter months. When all the stalls are on site from spring onwards, the range of goods on offer leaves almost nothing to be desired. The special thing is the variety: regional quality from organic farms can be found at the market as well as Mediterranean specialities, fish from Iceland or French delicacies.
Monthly market - every last Wednesday of the month
Every last Wednesday of the month there is a market in the centre of Wadern. Clothing, hats, household goods, sewing supplies, tools, jewellery and watches, spices and much more are on offer from 8 am to 1 pm.
